Moldflon™ fluorothermoplastics

MoldflonTM- injection molding and extrusion at the highest levels.

Under the MoldflonTM family of materials, we combine our high-quality thermoplastic fluoroplastics, including PFA (perfluoroalkoxylalkane),  FEP (fluoroethylene propylene) and PVDF (polyvinylidene difluoride).

Our fully and partially fluorinated materials MoldflonTM-PTFE, -PFA, -FEP, -ETFE and -PVDF are frequently used in applications with the highest demands on chemical resistance and non-stick properties, for example in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.

We also optimize the properties of our materials using numerous special compounds with reinforcing materials or blending partners in order to adapt them to specific applications and customers.

We realize considerable economic advantages for our customers through the non-cutting production in injection moulding of large series or the extrusion of continuous profiles.

Fluoropolymers: Outstanding versatility and chemical resistance.

Materials

MoldflonTM-PTFE

Our Moldflon™-PTFE is a material that largely corresponds to modified PTFE in terms of its chemical composition and properties. The great advantage of Moldflon™-PTFE lies in its processability from the melt by means of extrusion and injection molding. It also has a significantly reduced cold flow.

MoldflonTM-PFA - Perfluoroalkoxylalkane

MoldflonTM-PFA is a semi-crystalline, perfluorinated copolymer that is characterized by a higher degree of modification compared to modified PTFE. This enables thermoplastic processing. It impresses with its very high thermal and chemical resistance, UV resistance and is ideal for food contact. High-purity grades are also available.

MoldflonTM-FEP

MoldflonTM-FEP is a semi-crystalline, perfluorinated copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene. Compared to MoldflonTM-PTFE and -PFA, the continuous service temperature (up to approx. 200 °C) and the mechanical strength are reduced, while the chemical resistance is comparable. It is characterized by high transparency and increased radiation resistance.

MoldflonTM-ETFE

MoldflonTM-ETFE is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic copolymer of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene. Compared to PTFE, PFA and FEP, it offers higher mechanical properties as well as increased pressure and abrasion resistance.

MoldflonTM-PVDF

MoldflonTM-PVDF is a semi-crystalline polymer made from the monomer vinylidene fluoride and is one of the most important fluoroplastics. It is characterized by high mechanical properties, abrasion resistance, good chemical resistance and good steam and radiation sterilizability. These properties make MoldflonTM-PVDF a widely used material for barrier and tubing applications.
