Polytetraflon™-PTFE
The material for demanding applications.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is an unbranched, linear, semi-crystalline polymer made from the monomer tetrafluoroethylene (TFE). In contrast to many other thermoplastics, it remains dimensionally stable even above its melting point due to its extremely high melt viscosity and does not melt.
PolytetraflonTM-PTFE impresses with its almost universal chemical resistance and an exceptionally wide temperature application window. These properties make it ideal for use under the most demanding conditions. In addition, this material has excellent anti-adhesive properties and unparalleled sliding behavior, which makes it ideal for numerous dynamic sealing applications.
The physiological harmlessness of PolytetraflonTM PTFE also makes it a suitable material for use in medical technology and food technology.

PolytetraflonTM-PTFE: Highest performance for extreme applications.

Materials
PolytetraflonTM special compounds
Thanks to our in-house compounding, we develop compounds that are specially tailored to your particular application. In order to meet even complex requirements, we improve the mechanical properties, tribological behavior and electrical or thermal conductivity. If required, we can increase detectability by enhancing the X-ray contrast capability.
PolytetraflonTM-PTFE modified
In addition to the monomer TFE, other monomers (e.g. perfluoropropylvinyl ether) are also used in small proportions during the synthesis of modified PTFE in order to obtain a high-performance copolymer. This modified PTFE impresses with significantly reduced cold flow, improved barrier properties, a denser and less porous structure and excellent resilience.
PolytetraflonTM-PTFE porous
PolytetraflonTM-PTFE porous is characterized by a network of branched cavities that completely penetrate the plastic structure. It is permeable to gases but not to liquids. It also has a homogeneous reflectivity over a wide wavelength range (approx. 250-2,000 nm) and a Lambertian reflection behavior. Our products made of porous PTFE offer high inherent stability and enable self-supporting solutions.
