Enable E-Mobility: ElringKlinger focuses on battery technology and plastics solutions at Auto Shanghai

At Auto Shanghai, ElringKlinger presented its latest innovation in the field of sealing technology and high-performance plastics for electric drive systems: the ElroSeal™ G product. ElroSeal™ G is a shaft grounding ring developed for the discharge of induced charges in high-speed applications and contributes to increased efficiency in rotating applications, such as electric motors, actuators and electric drive train systems, and to a longer service life of these components. A plastic compound based grounding technology was used for the production. This is specified for low friction, high speed, high pressure, dry running and oil running conditions as well as high media  and temperature resistance. Especially in modern, oil-cooled systems, the new ElroSeal™ G with its special geometry can act as a wiper and thus ensure drainage even under oily conditions. The use of ElroSeal™ G in integrated e-axes with high-speed shafts  prevents electrical breakdown in the shaft bearing, even in systems exposed to oil. This also prevents premature wear.
