Spring energized seals
Versatile designs, precisely coordinated.
Spring energized seals are pressurizable sealing elements that can be individually adapted to your specific requirements. They are mainly used to seal pistons and rods that move in translation, for rotary and swivel movements or for static applications.
We differentiate between various designs which, despite their identical mode of action, differ from each other in terms of their profile design and spring shape.
The sealing effect of our spring energized seals is achieved by the precise internal preload of the plastic sleeve and the mechanical spring preload force. These radial contact forces are precisely matched to your specific requirements and guarantee reliable sealing even in unpressurized applications. The contact forces increase with additional system pressure. This leads to a stronger overall sealing pressure. Sealing can be further improved by using support rings.
